The
University of Vermont
The University of Vermont, established in 1791, is the largest
institution of higher learning in Vermont, comprising nearly
300 buildings and a 950-acre main campus. The university maintains
a dual focus on instruction and research. Its enrollment is
7,601 undergraduates, 1,106 graduates and 394 medical students.
The average undergraduate class size is 22.
The University of Vermont faculty consists of 974 full-time
and 183 part-time instructors. Most of the undergraduates are
from outside Vermont, principally the Northeastern states. UVM
offers more than 90 undergraduate majors; the most popular are
business, English, and political science. The university also
offers four preprofessional programs; 72 master's and 20 doctoral
degree programs; and an M.D. program.

St Albans The
